I am Peta,
My husband, Grant, and I invest in property not just for the returns, but for what those returns make possible. Our goal has always been simple: more time together, and the freedom to retire into a lifestyle of our choosing, sooner rather than later.
Along the way, investing has taught us a lot. But one lesson stands above the rest: time is our most valuable asset. Every hour spent buried in admin, chasing invoices, tracking expenses, working out what’s due and when, is an hour not spent on the things that actually matter. We made a choice early on to protect our time for the precious things in life, not the paperwork.
A while ago, a close friend of mine had a sudden emergency. Overnight, they went from managing their own property to not being able to look after it at all.
They handed me their phone, a few scattered details, and the keys to their house, and asked if I could help keep on top of things until they were back on their feet.
I said yes without hesitation. I wasn’t going to let my friend down. I wanted to protect what they’d worked hard for. But when it came time to actually do it, I realised how unprepared I was. I didn’t know where their information was. I didn’t know what was owed, to whom, or when. I was trying to piece together someone else’s financial life in the middle of a crisis, with no map to follow.
We got through it. But it shouldn’t have been that hard.
That experience stayed with me. It made me realise that even the most organised property owners are often one emergency away from leaving the people who care about them in the dark.
Combined with everything my husband and I had learned from our own investment journey, how much time property admin can quietly consume, and how much peace of mind comes from having things properly in order, it became clear there needed to be a better way.
I started mapping out what that system should look like, and over time those ideas became Pocket Space.
The solution landed.. a way to keep property finances organised, accessible, and shareable,
Now, in an emergency, the right people can step in immediately, without guesswork and without letting anyone down.
That’s why I created Pocket Space: so that no one has to scramble the way I did, and so that families, co-owners, and carers can protect what matters most, together, and with confidence, whatever comes their way.
